About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled and innovative AI Engineer (d/m/w) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing and deploying artificial intelligence solutions that enhance journalistic processes, optimize workflows, and create smarter media products. Your work will directly influence how MADSACK leverages AI to maintain its leadership in the media landscape. You will collaborate closely with product owners, editorial teams, and developers to translate complex needs into functional AI applications, ranging from agent-based workflows to generative AI solutions. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the deployment and operationalization of AI technologies within a reputable media organization, contributing to the media of tomorrow.

QualificationsCompleted degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field with a technical focus, or an equivalent qualification with relevant experience.Initial professional experience in developing digital products, preferably with a focus on AI applications.Proficiency with language models, prompt engineering, and experience with frameworks such as LangGraph or similar agent-based frameworks.Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and at least one major cloud platform (AWS or Azure), including deployment and operational responsibilities.Knowledge of GitOps practices (e.g., Flux or ArgoCD), CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code methodologies.Strong problem-solving skills with a creative approach to complex challenges, ensuring solutions are stable, scalable, and efficient.Excellent command of German (C1 level or higher) in both written and spoken communication.Willingness to occasionally visit the Hannover location; remote work options are available for part of the role.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop AI-based solutions utilizing LangGraph, Anthropic SDK, and other tools to address diverse needs across departments, from workflows to generative applications.Select appropriate models, tools, and architectures, ensuring optimal input and output for each project.Analyze existing applications to identify optimization opportunities and define comprehensive solutions spanning machine learning and generative AI domains.Build and maintain the infrastructure supporting AI solutions, including Kubernetes clusters on AWS and Azure, with automated deployment pipelines via Flux and observability tools like Grafana and Loki.Manage the entire lifecycle from prototyping to production deployment, emphasizing Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and GitOps practices.Engage with product owners, editorial teams, and developers to continuously improve AI tools and integrate feedback into iterative development cycles.Conduct testing, fine-tuning, monitoring, and ongoing enhancement of applications and infrastructure to ensure high performance and reliability.
